This tip is from Steve Lamb who is a professional instrument repairman (http://www.lambsmusic.com/repair.html). This is a drill guide to accurately drill dowels holes to repair a broken neck. The u-shaped cutout fits around the trussrod nut. Steve leaves the break as undisturbed as possible and uses 1/4" threaded rods as dowels. When the neck and head are both drilled he reassembles using epoxy glue.
