Steve Kinnaird Guitar's

This is the LINT member page of Steve Kinnaird.  Here you will find some great examples of Steve's handiwork.

This "signature model" guitar shown below was commissioned by J. B. Cody, a not-too-distant relative of Buffalo Bill Cody. The sides, back, neck, bindings and headstock veneers are Koa. The top is Sitka spruce, and the fretboard and bridge are ebony. The inlays were hand cut and inlayed by Craig Lavin of various stones and pearl, as well as sterling silver. Craig is a first class artist and a pleasure to work with. Click! on image to view a close up. More of his work can be seen at www.handcraftinlay.com

The bindings and are also purple heart and it is equipped with gold Schaller tuning machines with ebony buttons.

"I have sold Martin's, Taylor's and Gibson's in my music store business. I can honestly say that I have seen few guitars in my career that rival the sound, tone and beauty of my Kinnaird guitar" - Dana Woods, proprietor Encore Music

The image above shows a matching pair of Steve's guitars, one a 6 string, the other 12. Both were taken from consecutive cuts off the same flitch of wood. These guitars were built using Koa backs, sides, and tops as well as Koa necks with Cocobolo center laminations. The bindings are Cocobolo as well. Purflings and rosettes are rippled green abalone. Gold Schaller tuners with ebony buttons were installed on both. The Alpha and Omega on the heel caps were at the owner's request.
