December 2011 Christmas Meeting

This year's Christmas meeting was held at Chris Jenkin's new home.  About 30 people attended, most being new members.  It was a great turn out for our organization.

Tex Chapman feed everyone with his always popular chicken and sausage gumbo.

Phil Morris announced that during 2012, LINT will conduct monthly training sessions.  Each session will be limited to about five people.  These sessions will start this January and will continue throughout 2012.  Watch for the session annoucement on this website and the Yahoo Group emails.

New officers were nominated and elected for 2012.  Chris Jenkins was voted as Vice President and will succeed as President in 2013.  Rick Eagan was elected as Secretary/Treasurer.

Show and tell included Rick Eagan's 1970's Silvertone Lazarus guitar, and Derek Lambert's mandolin.

Work in progress guitars were presented by Stephen Kinnaird, Liam Snyman, Chris Jenkins, Aaron Ringo, Steve Stevens, Derek Lambert and Steve Frady.

The always popular and fun Chinese Christmas was a hit again this year.  This event really brings everyone together.  Many useful tools and tone woods were offerred up for grabs - literally.

Chris invited everyone to view his new shop.  It is well organized and reflects his dedication to the art of luthiery.

This was Bo Walker's last meeting as our 2011 President.  He is one of the "founding fathers" of LINT.  He has worked tirelessly for many years to keep LINT meaningful for all of us.  Our heart felt thanks go out to him as our outgoing President (serving in that capacity for over six years).

Our next meeting is the February 2012 Masters Class featuring Luthier Steve Klein of Sonoma, California.  Stay tuned to this website and Yahoo Group emails for the date, time and location.    Go to his website to view his profile
